Legal or Not??

Homosexuality is a common and ordinary term. A lot of people among us are homosexuals whether we know it or not and whether we like it or not. In every part of the world practicing homosexuality is considered immoral. But what does the law state? Not the law made by God but the man-made law. How much tolerable is man towards this practice?

Well the masses are not, if you consider the law, it varies from country to country. Some countries have made the practice of homosexuality legal just recently while others still refuse to do so, most of them include Islamic states.

One of the major issues regarding homosexual legalization and marriages is the adoptions performed by homosexual couples. A lot of people become concerned about the child’s future which would be involved, about the level of normalcy the child would get in his/her life. And would it be a risk to let such couples take up the responsibility of a child?

Countries that have legalized homosexual relations and marriages include South Africa, Bermuda, Canada, Brazil, Nepal, Mexico, United States e.t.c. While the countries in which homosexual acts are illegal include Algeria, Sudan, Mauritius, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arab, UAE, Pakistan e.t.c.

But law or not, people in every race, ethnicity, country, culture, religion are homosexuals and this is one fact we all need to accept and spread awareness about it.

Homosexuality- The Fashion Industry Influence

The fashion industry is all about coming up with new ideas. The more striking mark you make at it the more successful you are. Nowadays with the increasing popularity of the media, homosexuality is getting into fashion with the attention it is getting from the media. The top notch designers and models we are so fond off are 80% homosexuals or either posing to be. People generally tend to pose what they thing is trendy and is fashion.
If we look into our own fashion industry we will come across many designers who have a great trend towards homosexuality. Just to name a prominent figure of the fashion industry is Nomi Ansari. Apart from designing the best outfits in town we always see him in long blond spikes, studs in ears and an extremely feminine style. To name another very prominent figure is the famous begum Nawazish Ali. Rather than disapproving acts of acquired homosexuality people are promoting such figures. Nowadays it is commonly seen among the mob that the young generation in indulging in acts of homosexuality quiet freely just to make them selves look trendy and unique in the society. The entertainment channels are swarming with homosexuals as if there is no other topic of entertainment and promotion. Such acts should be strongly condemned by the public and stop considering it as a fashion statement.

Homosexuality- A Review Of The Muslim Era And The Present Condition.

Your identity is what you build up with your personal experiences, personal information and beliefs. The problem with having religion defining your identity is that a lot of times people end up not defining their identity on their own. Sexual orientation or identity is something that one should develop oneself.
Muslims have always followed blindly whatever social and traditional stances the other societies have offered and have even molded the religious views somehow to suit them. Ironically, religion can help people become better people; it can also make them the worst people because it takes away their ability to be objective. If we take a look at the past history you would be astounded to know that Muslim emperors and qazis, the main figures of law and order, were never biased about homosexuals. Even during the Ottoman and Abbasid empires homosexuality was practiced freely. People were accused and punished more on the basis of their crime performed and proofs available as is the Islamic law, and not on the basis of their sexuality. But with the passage of time the Muslim emperors noticed that the western world was being biased about homosexuals along with progression in other fields. So the Muslims also started holding a biased opinion against the homosexuals. Ironically now the western world is more comfortable accepting homosexuals as a part of their society than Muslims. Then there are countries like Iran who hold such strong negative opinions that they go as far as announcing their society to be completely free of homosexuals. The only conclusion that the human mind comes to is that homosexuals are not even considered a part of the humanity.

Homosexuality nature or nurture???

In our society it is a norm for people scorn and comments on issues about which they simply have no information about. Homosexuality is considered very offensive and detestable. People in our society simply go with the conventional rules made by culture and traditions. But times are changing; now the young generation is supportive as well as tolerable of homosexuality. There is a change in the general mentality of the mob. They have started to accept the fact that for some it might be something which they can help…but is that the case with everyone??

The question always crosses our minds that is homosexuality a natural phenomenon or is it by choice?? Well it certainly is a natural fact; homosexuality has been observed in many animal species and has been researched in detail on 500 species. Homosexuality is a completely normal occurrence, one gets it since birth but some people try to fight it off while others are open and direct about it and are not afraid to show the world who they really are.

Yes, homosexuality is completely normal and natural. the homosexual cannot help but feel the way that he/she is but they can either crush themselves and sacrifice their natural instincts for the norms of society or they can standup to every conventional mind and be who they are.

Religion is another factor involved in shaping up a persons life. No matter if your parents are the “religious sort” or not religion always comes up when they try to prove that they are right. But isn’t it God who created them as they are, they are as much human being as you and I, so why should they be discriminated. In the past women were discriminated on the basis of their gender, now we find that totally absurd and offensive, but if I had been living in the old times I certainly wouldn’t have had the liberty to pick up such a bold topic and talk about it freely. Same is the case with homosexuality we need to spread awareness and develop compassion in the hearts of others about it. It is something everyone needs to accept as part of the human’s nature just like somebody’s personality you find it good or bad you have to accept it because that’s portrays what the person really is.

Homosexuality And Perspectives Of Different Religions.

The state of being a homosexual is not condemned but indulging one self into a homosexual activity is taken in an antagonistic fashion. The connection of homosexuality and religion varies with time and location.
Perceptions and disapproving attitudes of people and religion varies from being extremely opposed about this fact to accepting it easily. The groups of Jews and Christians who support the social existence of such people in their setup and even go as far as blessing them in martial vows.
In some areas of Africa, Asia and Latin America homosexuals and their activities are considered a taboo. The religions that strongly condemn homosexuality include Sikhism, Jewism, Christianity and Islam. These religions accept homosexuality orientation state as a state bestowed by god on man but they strongly disapprove of any homosexual relationship or activity. All such activities are considered sinful and people indulging in them are either banished or punished on hard ground rules set by the religion. How ever there are certain groups in these religions who accept homosexuality like Reform Judaism, the United Church of Christ and the Metropolitan Community Church.
Homosexuality has various concepts in Buddhism. There are three branches of Buddhism. Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana. In Theravada there are monks and lays Buddhist. Monks are not allowed to indulge in any sort of activity be it homosexual or heterosexual. Whereas the lays act on certain moral values and rules. In the other two concepts of Buddhism the same rules apply.
In Christianity most preachers are of the school of thought that this act is highly sinful and punishable. These people can be accepted in the society but any sort of misconduct or ethically misbehavior is highly discouraged. Many scriptures of the bible prove this point of view like Samuel 2 (1:26), genesis (1:28), genesis (19) We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine. (1 Timothy 1:9-10)
Death penalty is the straight rule in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Mauritania, Sudan, and Yemen for homosexuality. Hence it is proved that an open display of homosexuality is disregarded all over and religions respect those who maintain discretion about their homosexuality.

How Far Is The Phenomenon Of Homosexuality Being Accepted Or Rejected In The Society?

Homosexuality can be known as a disorder or an abnormal attraction that individuals develop towards members of the same sex. Our blog focuses on this issue and will help you enlighten on certain facts related to such individuals. Any abnormality or out of the normality context feeling or activity is often taken in an antagonistic fashion.

It is quite a difficult task for the general public to accept the fact that such stigmas exist among them. Not just merely exist but are there along with them at work, buisness, parties, everywhere. They could be anybody among your friends, colleagues, teachers, acquaintances or even your own child!! As matter of fact some parents even go as far as to rejecting their own blood when it comes to a matter of disoriented sexuality. Since the society and the culture does not openly accept such knoms and considers such people a taboo so people do not hold homosexuals in a high regard. But parents do finally end up accepting their children in whatever sexual orientation they may exist. Some societies have progressed mentally and have finally accepted the hard truth whereas most haven’t as yet. We all know that these people live among us. They could be among the top executives of a company or may be among the most successful people we know. So we have to eventually end up accepting these people as a part of our society. The rate of acceptance is generally seen to be high in the western part of the world rather than the eastern. Laws have been made for these people and special rights have also been allotted which no longer leaves the homosexual community in a dilemma. They are more open about it now in the west, not that they consider their orientation a very open and conversational topic to discuss but people in the west have openly accepted this taboo as a part of their society. The basis on which societies discriminate homosexuals is religion. Religions strongly condemn such activities which eventually build ups a negativity force in the minds of the people. But now with the changing times people have become broader minded and are finally accepting homosexuals. The general opinion has started to change and people are finally moving in from a rejected homosexual society to a much open homosexual accepted society.

Homosexuality in Islam

Homosexuality in Islam s strictly prohibited. No compensation is allowed in this matter. History bears proof of the fact that nations have been destroyed because they indulged in homosexual behavior. A prominent example being of the :people of Lot" who were demolished by the wrath of Allah All Mighty. Homosexuality is forbidden in most of the Islamic states and is considered a hideous crime. The punishments dictated in Islam for such behavior are severe. Some critics are of the viewpoint that to some point homosexuality is permissible in Islam but that remains a minority. There are several refrences in Quran and Hadith against the practice of homosexuality for example it was narrated that Ibn Abbaas said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Whoever you find doing the deed of the people of Loot, kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done."
